Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Let me tell you about the basics of the Hawaii private catering service business. If you are fond of cooking, planning and group activities, then catering is undoubtedly a great career option for you. You can precede this business from your home too. Hawaii Catering services are of two types in general. First one is called the mobile catering and the second one is known as the event catering. Of them, the event catering is more popular and the profitable to ‘catering business persons’.

The ‘event catering’ includes the catering services in various conferences or parties in purpose of the birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and some other private parties. Even it is not always necessary to go for each and every type of catering services in the initial days. It is always better to go for the wedding caterings only in the initial days. Since wedding is full of entertainment and joy, and food is a vital component in joy and entertainment, a good wedding catering service can lift you ‘market reputation’ a lot in a single day. Even if you wish you can be recognized as the ‘wedding catering specialist’ in future too.

When you are opening a catering company, the business plans are very much vital. Without the proper planning, you will not be able to be successful in this business at all. You can have a ‘business loan’ to expand your business. Expansion of the business means that you buy all the necessary catering equipments and own them. In the initial days, you should tie up with any good catering equipment supplier and use their equipments in the events against some money. If your business starts go through the right way then you will be able to buy the catering equipments by your own within some months with the money of your profit.

The planning also includes the ways to make your brand name popular to the people. You can use the newspapers or the audio-visual media as the component of advertising your business along with the Internet. In these days of tough competition, the proper advertisements can do wonders for your business. Along with the mentioned basics, you should appoint some modest and workaholic people as the ‘food servers’ and the ‘catering guide. Immense importance should be given to the cook of your catering company. Lastly, you and your people should be polite and modest to the guests of the particular event while working.

How To Start Home Based Catering Business

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Starting a catering business from home can be a great career for people that enjoy planning, cooking and working with customers. The job of a catering business from home is to ensure the meal, appetizers, desserts and drinks are perfect for the client’s event. Catering services are used for conferences, birthdays, anniversaries, and, of course, weddings.

Before to start your business, be sure that you have a sound business plan. Always bear in mind that your business plan is very important if you want to succeed in your business. You don’t really need a complicated business. All you need is a list of things that you need to do to get things started, have a business goal, a timeframe and a budget. To make a simplified business plan, just get a piece of paper and divide it into four columns.

The first column should be allocated for particulars where you will write all the things that you will to do, the second column could be for time frame where you get to write the time and date when you will need to perform the task that you listed in your column for particulars, the third column will not be for your expected expenses and the fourth column will be for your expected output.

When formulating your business plan, make sure that you list all the things that need to be done, preferably in a chronological order or in your order of priorities. For instance, since you are setting up a home based catering business, you will need to get cooking equipments. On your fist column, you may write there purchase of equipments and cooking utensils. Make sure that you identify all the equipments and utensils that you need. You may write then according to your priorities.

On the second column, write when you will purchase these things. In case you are not planning to purchase all your equipments all at the same time, write the different target dates you have. For your third column, estimate how much money you need to get you equipments. You may also write in your business plan as to where you intend to get the money from.

The fourth column of simplified business plan can be a bit tricky. Here you will make some business projections. If you are buying equipments, you will need to project how you will be able to recover the cost of your investment. Be realistic in your projections. Always bear in mind that it will not do your any good to be overly optimistic. Always be conservative when making projections. It is always better to exceed your projected income than to fall miserably below it.
